Faizah Ahmed is a recent graduate of University College London (UCL), where she obtained her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 2022. During her undergraduate studies, Faizah demonstrated a passion for sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. Her undergraduate thesis focused on "Improving the mechanical stability and scratch resistance of mesoporous inorganic aluminosilicate thin films," with the aim of enhancing the fabrication of thin films for use as coatings on energy storage devices and solar PVs.
Faizah's research skills were further honed during her 4th-year research project, where she co-authored a research article on "Enhanced mechanical stability and scratch resistance of mesoporous aluminosilicate thin films." Her academic achievements have been recognised twice with being awarded the most academically outstanding Year 1 undergraduate student. First achievement as the UCL Sir Denis Rooke Scholarship in 2018/19 and the second achievement being the UCL Faculty Undergraduate Scholarship for Excellence in 2019/20.
Faizah has recently joined FairHeat's Graduate Scheme as a Graduate Engineer in 2023. She is eager to apply her knowledge and skills in a role that supports sustainability and the UK's decarbonisation goals, and to be part of a leading team of experts in heat networks.
