Freddie Valletta

Freddie Valletta

Senior Engineer

Freddie joined FairHeat from the University of Cambridge in 2016, following his Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.  During his studies, he spent a summer in the Middle East with Petroleum Development Oman in their Production Chemistry department. This eye-opening work gave him experience in carrying out operational analysis of facilities with design issues and improving their performance.

As a Senior Engineer, Freddie focuses on developing, proposing and implementing performance improvements to clients’ portfolios of existing communal heat networks.  In addition to this, Freddie oversaw the evolution of the Acceptance Testing process, ensuring clients have confidence that dwelling HIUs in their new heat networks have been installed and commissioned correctly and to the design.

Freddie is passionate about communal heating and is committed to establishing new solutions for clients to get the best performance out of their heat networks, resulting in reduced energy usage, a lower carbon footprint and ultimately greater resident satisfaction. Freddie recently received his CIBSE chartership and is a qualified Prince 2 Project Management Practitioner.

"Every day at FairHeat presents itself with a new challenge and I relish the opportunity to contribute to the decarbonisation of heat networks in the UK and further afield! Working with and supporting FairHeat's wide range of clients requires many different approaches to combat the challenges they face, in order to achieve this goal of decarbonisation and heat network performance optimisation, whilst also raising awareness and improving resident perception of heat networks. Seeing the results that FairHeat achieve is immensely gratifying and is testament to the great work that we carry out. In my supervisory role I have been able to assist in the development of fledgling engineers and steer them in the early stages of their professional journey. The strides taken by our young engineers are particularly positive to see and I am looking forward to seeing the beneficial impact that FairHeat provide to the industry in the years to come."
