Laura graduated in 2022 from the University of Bath, where she completed her MEng in Chemical Engineering. During her course of study, she completed a placement year at Unilever, working as a Process Scientist in Research and Development in the Processing team for 14 months. In this role, she worked on various projects, including the testing and development of a novel process to produce ice cream more efficiently while maintaining ice cream quality. She also planned and carried out trials to investigate problems with non-dairy ice cream in factories, designing rules around processing non-dairy ice cream based on the results of her trials, and advising brand teams on process conditions and formulations to avoid processing issues and factory waste. In 2020, Laura was accepted to carry out her research project at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, where she researched the use of carbon membranes for crystallisation.
Laura joined FairHeat's Graduate Scheme in 2022 as a Graduate Engineer to make an impact by solving the complex challenges associated with climate change. Laura is excited to gain experience from FairHeat on heat networks and be able to apply knowledge from her degree to contribute to the company's mission.
