Adam Deaney

Graduate Engineer

Adam joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2024 after graduating with First-Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering (MEng) from the University of Bath.

During his studies, he gained valuable industry experience through an internship with Red Bull Racing and an industrial placement at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS, now DESNZ), where he worked as an Energy Statistician and Data Engineer. His work included developing automated statistical processes, contributing to national energy datasets, and producing briefing materials for government ministers.

Adam also worked as a Renewable Energy Consultant, supporting the optimisation of solar PV and battery storage systems, developing energy masterplans, and assessing EV charging infrastructure projects. He collaborated with developers, community energy groups, and non-profit organisations to improve energy performance and support decarbonisation.
Passionate about using engineering to create practical, sustainable solutions, Adam joined FairHeat’s Graduate Scheme to help deliver better outcomes for heat network customers and contribute to the UK’s net zero transition.

“I wanted to join FairHeat as I’m passionate about using engineering to improve everyday life. I’m especially excited to make a difference by using heat networks as a means to decarbonise and alleviate fuel poverty.”
