Andrea Antonuccio
Consulting Engineer
Andrea joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2023, following his graduation from Imperial College London with a first-class MEng in Chemical Engineering. Throughout his academic and early professional career, Andrea demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable engineering and innovative energy solutions.
In 2022, Andrea completed a summer placement with the SSE Major Projects Team, where he researched, modeled, and produced a technical paper on battery augmentation strategies. This experience enhanced his understanding of key project factors such as CAPEX, OPEX, and IRR. It also provided him with his first exposure to PV cells and heat network projects, where he gained valuable insights into the technical challenges and obstacles involved in building new networks.
Since joining FairHeat, Andrea has rotated in several teams throughout his graduate programme, working within the District Heating, Optimisation, Building System Design and Quality Assurance teams. He is now sitting within the Quality Assurance team as a Consulting Engineer, whilst also being a mentor in the Heat Exchanger Mentor Programme. In his time at FairHeat, he has been exposed to various projects, enriching his technical knowledge on the different types of heat networks within the UK industry. Through his experience working at the various stages of a project, Andrea has been able to apply a hollistic approach in his proposed ideas and solutions, helping clients navigate through the challenges of designing and installing a heat network.
"FairHeat’s industry leadership and commitment to empowering young engineers to make a difference in the energy sector made them stand out for me. I am enthusiastic to work in their thriving environment as a graduate engineer where I can further expand my understanding and skills in the decarbonisation of the UK’s heat sector."
