Charlie Davies
Consulting Engineer
Charlie joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2023 after graduating with a First-Class MEng in Engineering Science from Keble College, University of Oxford.
During his studies, he gained industry experience through a summer internship with a specialist wastewater contractor, where he worked on complex refurbishment projects within the wastewater sector.
Since joining FairHeat, Charlie has developed broad experience across several technical teams. He began in the Compliance department, preparing optimisation business cases for complex heat network sites, before moving to Building Systems Design, where he contributed to RIBA Stage 3 design packages for non-residential heating systems.
Charlie later joined the Industry Standards team, where he played a key role in developing the draft Heat Network Technical Standard (TS1), working closely with industry specialists and technical working groups to help shape the future of heat network standards.
Charlie now works in FairHeat’s Quality Assurance team, supporting quality management across the design, construction, and commissioning of heat networks. His work spans both new-build and retrofit projects, helping to deliver high-performing, low-carbon heat network solutions.
"Buildings are the UK’s second-highest contributor to emissions, and remain a major challenge in the UK’s transition to a net-zero economy. As someone who’s passionate about the successful delivery of decarbonisation projects and raising standards for the industry, my work at FairHeat means I get to make a real difference to the performance of heat networks and demonstrate their value as a solution for a lower-carbon future."
