Senior Engineer
Charlie joined FairHeat in 2025 as a senior engineer at FairHeat with a background in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with First Class Honours from the University of Huddersfield in 2018.
After graduating, Charlie joined Baker Hughes as a Pipe System Design Engineer, before moving to Cenergist Ltd in 2020. Starting as an M&E Engineer, she was promoted to Head of Engineering in 2021. In this role, she led the design and delivery of low-carbon heating solutions, including a £24 million retrofit project in Leeds that replaced storage heaters with heat pumps across 26 tower blocks – earning industry recognition for its impact on cost reduction and energy efficiency.
Charlie works within FairHeat’s Building System Design team, leading a design squad focused on delivering detailed retrofit designs for residential and commercial buildings. The design approach considers the building system as a whole, enabling efficiency improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing overall performance while reducing operational costs.
“I joined FairHeat as I want to work somewhere that not only focuses on sustainability within the built environment but it’s also positively impacting the livelihood of the public by designing high efficiency systems with the end-user in mind, focusing on technical excellence and quality.”
