Declan Murphy
Principal Project Manager
Declan Murphy joined FairHeat in 2024 as a Senior Project Manager, bringing extensive experience in the built environment, energy, rail, and building services industries.
Declan holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds and achieved Chartership with IMechE in July 2021. Before FairHeat, Declan was the Associate Director of Decarbonisation at Tallarna, leading efforts to decarbonise UK local authorities and housing associations’ buildings, including hospitals, schools, and leisure centres. He developed regional building decarbonisation strategies across a national retrofit consortia for approximately 800,000 homes alongside creating a 56,000 home South Wales retrofit consortia which received government backing.
At Transport for London (TfL), Declan worked on major infrastructure projects like Crossrail and the Jubilee Line, focusing on critical life-safety systems and delivering TfL’s energy strategy. He notably developed TfL’s first ‘Waste Heat Strategy’ to commercialise surplus energy from the Underground for low-carbon heat generation.
"I joined FairHeat so that I could be at the forefront of heat decarbonisation across the UK whilst also providing me with the opportunity to work alongside other industry leaders achieving Net Zero in a way that works for everyone."
