Freddie Harcourt

Senior Engineer

Freddie joined FairHeat in 2022 and is now a Senior Engineer within the Industry Standards team, supporting the development and implementation of heat network regulation.

Freddie holds an MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Engineer with CIBSE. Before joining FairHeat, he spent four years at AECOM, progressing from Graduate to Energy Engineer and delivering district energy feasibility studies, heat mapping, and solar PV projects for major public sector clients, including Transport for London and Network Rail.

Since joining FairHeat, Freddie has worked across heat network optimisation studies, retrofit design, and capital works projects, supporting the delivery of multiple Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) programmes. He has helped improve heat network performance and efficiency, contributed as a supporting author of the DESNZ Heat Network Optimisation Guidance, and plays an active role in internal training and professional development initiatives.

As a Senior Engineer in the Industry Standards team, Freddie supports the development of industry guidance and regulations that help drive higher standards and better outcomes across the heat network sector.

“FairHeat has a clear vision to drive the industry forward, improving both technical standards and developing quality engineers for the sector. Moving to FairHeat has given me the opportunity to work on the full project lifecycle of a heat network, delivering an affordable transition to low carbon heat for both legacy and new networks.”
