Joshua Wise

Graduate Engineer

Joshua joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2025 after graduating from the University of Leeds with a first-class MEng in Chemical Engineering. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in engineering innovation and industry collaboration, including founding a student chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering at Leeds. He also completed a year-long placement with GSK at their Ware manufacturing site within the utilities and facilities team.

His experience at GSK strengthened his interest in building services and highlighted the importance of maintaining and decarbonising critical infrastructure, leading him to pursue a career focused on low-carbon heat and energy systems.

Since joining FairHeat, Joshua has completed a rotation in the Quality Assurance department, where he used software and data analysis skills to help streamline the processing of dwelling acceptance testing results. He is currently part of the District Heating Design team, supporting the design and development of district heat networks for local authorities and developers.

Outside of project work, Joshua is involved in FairHeat’s school outreach programme, helping introduce primary and secondary school students to engineering and the importance of decarbonisation.

“It’s an exciting time to join the industry, with heat networks playing a vital role in the UK’s journey towards net zero. I’m looking forward to contributing to that progress and helping support the growth of low-carbon heat infrastructure.”
