
Mark Reynolds
Senior Engineer
Mark joined FairHeat in 2019 and is now a Senior Engineer, bringing over six years of experience in heat networks, with a particular focus on quality assurance, optimisation, and retrofit projects.
Mark holds a First-Class MEng in Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University, has completed the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), and is currently working towards Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE. Prior to joining FairHeat, he worked at BASF, where he supported metering and monitoring improvements as part of the company’s ISO 50001 energy management certification programme.
Since joining FairHeat, Mark has progressed from Graduate Engineer to Senior Engineer, leading heat network optimisation studies, supporting clients with audits, investment modelling, and improvement strategies, and overseeing the design and delivery of major retrofit projects. He has also helped secure over £12 million of government funding for heat network improvement schemes.
Mark currently leads a team within FairHeat’s Compliance department, helping organisations prepare for upcoming heat network regulations and future decarbonisation. He is also an active contributor to the industry, regularly presenting research at conferences including the CIBSE Technical Symposium and Smart Energy Systems Conference, with work published in industry journals and publications.
