Matt Hannan
Head of Commercial
Matt joined FairHeat as a Quantity Surveyor in 2024, bringing over 25 years of engineering and commercial experience across the construction, manufacturing, and energy sectors.
Matt began his career as an Armourer in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) before moving into senior commercial roles within the energy industry. Prior to joining FairHeat, he was Head of Commercial & Estimating at E.ON, leading commercial management and estimating activities for multi-utility, district heating, district cooling, and decentralised energy infrastructure projects, including the construction of energy centres.
Beyond the energy sector, Matt has supported the delivery of complex engineering projects within pharmaceutical, healthcare, and semiconductor manufacturing environments, overseeing supply chain strategy, contract negotiation, and project delivery.Matt holds an MSc in Quantity Surveying from Northumbria University, a BSc (Hons) and Foundation Degree in Engineering from Teesside University, a NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma, and is a member of both the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).
At FairHeat, Matt applies his extensive commercial, technical, and project delivery expertise to support the successful delivery of heat network projects, ensuring value, quality, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
