Ryan Collins
Consulting Engineer
Ryan joined FairHeat in 2022 after graduating from Loughborough University with an MEng in Chemical Engineering. Since joining the business, he has gained experience across several teams, including Quality Assurance, Optimisation, Building System Design, and Asset Management, developing a broad understanding of heat networks throughout their design, delivery, and operation.
During his time at FairHeat, Ryan has contributed to a wide range of projects, including RIBA Stage 3 retrofit designs for university buildings, optimisation reporting for residential heat networks, and quality assurance activities for new-build developments. These experiences have enabled him to develop expertise in system performance, project delivery, and operational improvement.
Currently, as a Consulting Engineer within the Asset Management team, Ryan leads a sub-team responsible for supporting the long-term performance and reliability of client heat network portfolios. His responsibilities include risk management, asset maintenance planning, water quality management, and project quality assurance, helping to ensure networks operate efficiently, reliably, and in line with industry best practice.
“Not only are FairHeat playing an instrumental role in decarbonising heat in the UK, but they are also developing young engineers into leaders within the industry. I chose to join FairHeat because I knew I would get experience and exposure to some exciting projects early on in my career.”
