Ryan Harris
Principal Engineer
Ryan joined FairHeat in 2018, after graduating from the University of Cambridge with a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering via Natural Sciences. Ryan joined FairHeat to gain experience in delivering efficient and cost effective methods of heat delivery as the UK moves to decarbonise the heating sector.
Ryan currently heads one of FairHeat’s New Build Quality Assurance teams, reviewing design and implementation of heat networks, ambient loops, and chilled water systems.
A particular focus of Ryan’s work is plant room demonstrations and load tests, having developed a methodology for simulating real system conditions to assess system performance against design intent and guarantee security of heat supply to residents. This methodology, and examples of common issues that can be highlighted and resolved, was accepted into the CIBSE Technical Symposium 2022 where Ryan presented the findings to the industry.
"FairHeat stood out to me as a company that not only want to improve industry practice but to lead the future of UK heat networks.Working at FairHeat has given me the opportunity to work on a wide breadth of both new build and legacy projects, driving the efficiency and performance of networks to reduce the cost of heat to residents."
