Simon Canniffe

Graduate Engineer

Simon joined FairHeat as a Graduate Engineer in 2024 after earning an MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

During university, Simon was recognised for his academic excellence, receiving an award for the best plant design in his third-year project focused on front-end engineering design (FEED) of an ammonia plant. His research dissertation on “Characterisation of Perovskite Solar Cells” introduced an experimental procedure that reduced error by up to 50%. Simon also served as a Student Ambassador for the Sutton Trust, teaching process and product design.

Simon was drawn to FairHeat’s commitment to employee development and is excited to apply his engineering skills to help decarbonise the UK’s heating sector.

“FairHeat’s commitment to training and supporting their employees really appealed to me. After leaving university, I wanted to use my engineering skills to help the UK achieve its Net Zero Carbon goals, and working at FairHeat will allow me to make an impact on decarbonising the UK’s heat.”
