Stuart Dobson

Graduate Engineer

Stuart joined FairHeat in 2025 as a Graduate Engineer after graduating from the University of Sheffield in 2024 with a First-Class MEng in Chemical Engineering.

During his studies, Stuart developed a strong interest in sustainable energy and low‑carbon technologies. He completed projects including the design of a methanol production plant and an energy integration analysis to improve system efficiency. He also gained hands-on industry experience at Cummins, where he worked on the development of EV servicing tools.

Since joining FairHeat, Stuart has gained experience in the Building Systems Design (BSD) and Compliance teams, supporting the design and assessment of heat networks. His work has included undertaking portfolio reviews and contributing to improving network performance and supporting regulatory alignment across projects.

Stuart is motivated by the role heat networks play in the UK’s transition to net zero and is keen to continue developing his technical skills while contributing to the delivery of efficient, high‑performing systems.

"I’m excited to be part of the shift towards low‑carbon heat, but also to work on systems that make energy more accessible and affordable. It’s important to me that engineering solutions don’t just perform well, but also help reduce fuel poverty and support a fairer energy future."
