The Diverse Heat Network (DHN) is a collective of organisations with a shared ambition to enable change within the sector through partnership and collaboration. FairHeat are proud and active supporters of the newly founded group, with Gareth Jones representing as a Board Member and Tala Baadarani representing as a Champion.

The DHN will work towards attracting a diverse workforce into the sector which is representative of society and reflects a diversity of skills, experiences and perspectives. A workforce that fills the skills gaps to ensure the heat network and energy industry will have the necessary expertise, training and experience to deliver the UK’s transition to net zero.

What are the DHN’s aim?

  • To encourage collaboration, share best practice, and learn from and with each other
  • To identify the parts of our sector which are not diverse
  • To attract a diverse workforce into the sector which is representative of society
  • To enable change, inspire and influence the wider heat network, energy industry, our partners and supply chain to accelerate change.

See It, Be It.

A first initiative by the DHN is contributing to See it, Be it’s green energy series, which shines a light on an industry striving to diversify its workforce and showcases the amazing people who are passionate about creating visibility. Lucy Sherburn, Consulting Engineer at FairHeat, shares her story and experiences.
