Our District Heating Design (DHD) department provides end-to-end expertise in the development of district heating networks, from feasibility assessments to the detailed design of city-wide systems. By ensuring the efficient generation and distribution of heat, the team plays a critical role in enabling large-scale investment in the decarbonisation of heat use in urban areas, a key step towards achieving net-zero.
Our expertise includes:
Heat demand and technoeconomic modelling. Assessing the viability of new heat network areas through comprehensive heat demand modelling, technoeconomic analysis, and financial appraisal.
Design of large-scale low-carbon energy centres. Developing heat pump-led energy centres, buried network pipework, and customer connections for city-wide projects.
Grant funding applications. Supporting clients in securing funding to accelerate heat network development.
Quality assurance and project oversight. Ensuring high-quality delivery through client-side assurance of final design, installation, and commissioning.
With extensive experience in district heating, our DHD team is committed to driving forward the transition to sustainable, low-carbon heat networks.
